Text:

Inside the head, densely folded, is the package of DNA, the genes that a fertile sperm will deliver to the heart of the egg. The head perches like the top of a lollipop on the short, stiff midpiece which is the sperm’s powerhouse, the place where stored energy is mobilized to activate the tail for swimming.
